On December 6, 2025, the NYC Winter Kendama Cup brought kendama players and the local community together at Japan Village in Brooklyn for a full day of freestyle, competition, and kendama culture.

The NYC Kendama Cup is held twice a year — in summer and winter — bringing together beginners, experienced players, families, and kendama fans from across New York and beyond.

More than just a competition, the event is about building a kendama community in NYC and introducing more people to this unique part of Japanese culture.

Players had the opportunity to test their skills, compete, connect with other kendama players, and enjoy the energy of the NYC kendama community.

Whether picking up a kendama for the first time or competing for the title, everyone is welcome.
